Sunset and sunrise.

Dusk and dawn.

An ending and a beginning.

Originally released in 2022, this collection started off as a 5-piece series, however, it didn’t take long before I pulled them out and went on a one-year hiatus. From the pieces that were initially released, only one remained - the rest were given away. That year was a year of losses, loneliness, mistakes and regrets. I couldn’t bring myself to paint for a year. But I promised myself that if I were to paint again, I would turn my failures into lessons learned and start over.

“Reflections” is a twin series consisting of 12 iridescent gold paintings inspired by the glimmers of light on the sky and the sea during sunset and sunrise. It is a remembrance of past experiences and an acceptance of goings and endings. It is an expectancy of a bright future and an anticipation of comings and new beginnings.

Life can be cruel and knock us down. At times we may even find ourselves falling flat on the ground. But remember that when the dark night ends and a new dawn comes, we can always rise back up.
